Education Assistant

JOB TITLE: Educational Assistant – Part-Time / Full-Time

Position Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate, energetic, and dedicated Educational Assistant (EA) to support student learning and well-being across K–12 classrooms. The EA will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide individualized support to students, assist with classroom activities, and help foster a safe, nurturing, and Christ-centred learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support classroom teachers in implementing lessons and activities for students of varying abilities.
• Work one-on-one or in small groups with students requiring extra academic or behavioral support.
• Assist with classroom management, transitions, and supervision during recess, lunch, and special activities.
• Collaborate with teachers, Inclusive Education Lead, and parents to support student learning goals.
• Provide encouragement, guidance, and care that reflects the school’s Christian values.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience working with children in a classroom, daycare, or educational setting (preferred).
• Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and flexibility.
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, students, and families.
• Commitment to Christ-centred education and modelling Christian values.

Preferred:

• Post-secondary coursework in education, child development, or related field.
• Experience supporting students with special education needs.
• Training in Restorative Practices, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, or Positive Behaviour Support.
