Term: full-time, contract
Hours: 7.0-7.5 hrs/day
Shift: Monday - Friday
Start Date: August 17, 2026 and Sept 1, 2026
Salary: ECE $26.50 (plus $6/hr for Licensed ECE’s as per the Provincial Government’s Wage
Enhancement Initiative), ECEA $ 24.50/hr.
Reports To: Preschool Director

Nature & Scope
The ECE/ECEA will work directly within our early years team, supporting and contributing to the
daily operation and delivery of our developmentally appropriate, child-focused and play-based program that encourages wonder, faith and curiosity. By adhering to the BC ChildCare Licensing Regulations and working within the Gaglardi School Values, early childhood educators/assistants ensure a safe and engaging Christian environment for all children, which will build a strong foundation for lifelong learning. These educators also cultivate and maintain strong, positive relationships with parents, fellow educators, students and community partners to deliver high-quality early learning and childcare within the community we serve. Our Educators are committed church-attending Christians.
Major Responsibilities - in this position, you will:
● Provide quality care and creative programming directly to the children
● Build meaningful and positive relationships with children and families
● Work with your team to create a supportive and safe environment for both staff and families
● Deliver high-quality and age-appropriate programs, with reference to the E.L.F., with a focus
on early learning through hands-on, experiential, open-ended activities and opportunities.
● Ensure constant active supervision of the children and collaboration as a team to facilitate
smooth transitions between play areas while maintaining staff-child ratios as per BCCCFL
● Work with centre staff and volunteers to maintain a well-organized, safe and clean
environment, contributing to ongoing classroom materials and supplies rotation and inventory
● Set an example for professional appearance and conduct as per the Gaglardi dress code and
maintain those standards also during professional development opportunities
● Maintain confidentiality of all information related to the centre, the children, their families, and staff
● Attend all staff meetings, professional development sessions, and other training, as
scheduled
Qualifications - you bring:
● ECE certification, licensed in B.C. or ECEA certificate- ECE is preferred.
● Special Needs Educator (SNE) is an asset
● Experience in working or volunteering with groups of young children
● Emergency First Aid and CPR-C & AED certificate (or to be obtained within 30 days after the
start date)
● Successful candidate(s) will be required to provide 3 satisfactory references, including one
from their Christian pastor.
● Successful candidates will be required to provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Record
