International Student Admission Policy

Rational

As part of Gaglardi Academy's call to mission, the Lord encourages us to ask Him for whole nations to come to know the saving grace of Jesus Christ (Psalm 2:8). It is powerful when we go into all the world to make disciples (Matt 28:19), but it can be equally fruitful when the world comes to us.

Gaglardi Academy will use exclusive agents for admitting international students.
The responsibilities of the exclusive agents include:
• Promoting Gaglardi Academy in their respective countries including advertising, publishing brochures, and holding in-country student fairs.
• Translation services for documents, applications, VISA’s, and correspondence between students, parents and school.
• Assist with conflict resolution between school, students, and homestay.
• Preparing VISA documents and Custodianship documents.
• Site visitations a minimum of three times per year.

General Admittance

Gaglardi Academy will not admit school-aged children under 13 years of age unless the parent or guardian is living in the Comox Valley and is a part of the school community. For children 13 years and older, a Christian Homestay family will be arranged where applicable.

Short-Term Admission

Gaglardi Academy will, from time to time, admit international students on a limited and part-time basis. The tuition will be calculated using the current international tuition rate times the number of hours of instruction the student will be in attendance. Assessment of individual students may be considered depending on the length of attendance.

International Tuition

International Tuition will be established annually as approved by the School Board. For international students, 100% of tuition is due and payable before the student's arrival in Canada. Tuition will not be refunded unless the student is unable to obtain a student Visa. There will be a 10% hold-back to cover administrative costs. Tuition for international students that are in attendance for part of any given school year will be pro-rated.

International Fees

A schedule of fees will be established annually as approved by the School Board. Fees will include:
• Administrative Fees
• Homestay Fees
• Uniform Purchases
• Medical Insurance
• Activity & Athletic Fees
• ESL Fees
Except for the unused portion of the Homestay Fees, fees will not be refunded once the school year is underway. Fees will be refunded if the student is unable to obtain a student Visa.

Uniform

Regardless of the length of time a student is enrolled at Gaglardi Academy, everyone must adhere to the uniform policy.

Code of Conduct

Regardless of the length of time a student is enrolled at Gaglardi Academy, everyone must adhere to the School’s Code of Conduct.
