Dear beloved families:

Spring Break is coming up quickly! Friday, March 19th, is currently the last day before Spring Break and our custom in the past has been to have a half-day of school with early dismissal at 11:30 am, a BBQ hosted by PAC, and winners of the PAC Raffle drawn and announced. However, due to Covid once again, BBQs and gatherings are not able to happen, unfortunately. But there is some good news!

PAC will have their raffle winners announced through live-stream and since March 19th will have just a few hours of instructional time with parents driving their children to school only to turn around and pick them up again, we thought we’d look into giving families an additional day off at the start of Spring Break since our community is exhausted from restrictions, mask-wearing, and worry about the possibility of exposure.

So, without further adieu, we announce that March 19th is now a non-instructional day for students (which means that Thursday, March 18, is now the last day of school before Spring Break begins)! I hope you’ll take this day to celebrate the achievements and perseverance your children have shown in getting this far in the school year. Well done to families, students, and staff alike! May this extra day be a day of blessing to you.

That being said, the school is also sensitive to our many working parents who will need childcare on short notice. Although it will be a non-instructional day, the school will be open from 8:45 am to 11:30 am for working parents who need this support. Mr Harrison and I will be on-site to care for your kids until 11:30 am. Should you choose this option, please contact the school (office@gaglardiacademy.ca) to ensure the appropriate staff-to-student supervision ratio.

Blessings to you all, (now, during the break, and when I see you again on April 6th!)
Bernadette
