Dear parents,

As part of the high school missions week, the grade 10-12 students will be running day camps for our entire elementary school! This is a great opportunity for our multi-grade level school to have fun together, to learn from each other, and build our Gaglardi community!

The camps will take place as follows:

Monday, May 9 - Grades 5, 6, 7
Tuesday, May 10 - Grades 3, 4
Wednesday, May 11 - Grades K, 1, 2

All camps will take place at the beautiful Selah Campsite, just a few minutes outside of Courtenay. Drop-off at Selah Campsite can happen anytime between 9:00 and 9:30 am, in time for the day’s activities, which will begin promptly at 9:30 am. Pick-up will be at 2:30 pm at Selah Campsite.

Here’s what your child needs to bring with them for their day at camp:

  • Weather-appropriate clothing that is great for playing and getting dirty (non-uniform, please!)
  • Close-toed shoes - good for running around and getting dirty
  • Bag lunch
  • Hat and sunscreen, if weather is sunny
  • Water bottle that is full of water - water is not potable on the camp property. We will have water for refills, but please send your child with a full bottle in the morning

The directions to Selah Campsite can be found on Google maps - see link: https://www.google.com/maps/place/Selah+Evangelical+Christian+Campsite/@49.6919663,-125.030286,17z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x54881416adb42e53:0x197fca29fd0a2b33!8m2!3d49.6913596!4d-125.0345186

These directions will get you to the corner of Cessford Road and Greaves Crescent. From there, follow the signs along the dirt road until you reach the parking lot with the huge “Welcome to Selah Campsite” sign. High school students will be at the parking lot to direct you to the campsite.

Parents are welcome to stay for part or all of the day. Please bring your own water and lunch.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the office.

Sincerely,

Lonnie Penner and Joy Tansky
