Our new school motto comes from Paul’s letter to Timothy:
“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
In its historical context, Paul was writing to his young protégé, Timothy, a pastor and leader in the early church. Paul reminded Timothy that the foundation of his ministry and his life was not clever ideas or cultural trends, but the living Word of God. By staying rooted in Scripture, Timothy would be able to stand firm in truth, grow in wisdom, and lead others faithfully.
At our school, we see ourselves in a similar role: mentoring and equipping the next generation, just as Paul mentored Timothy. Our calling is to guide students toward lives shaped by God’s truth—teaching them, training them, and encouraging them so that they, too, may be “thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
This verse captures the heart of our mission. We don’t see faith and learning as separate pursuits; instead, God’s Word gives life and meaning to every subject and every activity. It is through Scripture that academics are elevated, athletics are shaped by discipline and teamwork, and the arts are infused with creativity that reflects our Creator.
When we say we are “equipped for every good work,” we are declaring our belief that God’s Word prepares our children to flourish—in the classroom, on the stage, on the field, at home, and in the wider world.
This year, we will return again and again to this truth: the Scriptures are not only instruction but inspiration, shaping our students into young men and women who carry Christ’s love and wisdom wherever they go.
