Dear Gaglardi Families,

I am sure you have all heard the news about the delayed start to the school year in 2022!

Health Minister Dix, Education Minister Whiteside, and Provincial Health Officer, Dr. Henry, announced a “phased restart” to school following our Christmas break. This will provide health officials and school leaders time to assess the impact of the Omicron variant on our learning community and time for us to update our communicable disease plan, implementing recommended changes for a safe return on January 10th.

The ‘phased restart” announced includes:

  • A delayed return to school for all K-12 students until Jan. 10, 2022.
  • Enhanced safety measures in schools, including the pausing of sports tournaments, reinforcing personal protective practices, and adjusting school gatherings.
  • Schools will be open to provide services for children of essential workers and students with special needs during the week of January 4-7. If you are an essential worker and require childcare during the upcoming week, please fill in the form below so we can support your family!  Click Here to complete the form for childcare.

Enjoy the extended break with your family. As this is a delayed start, students will not be expected to complete home learning during the week of January 4-7. We look forward to seeing our students return to school soon!

All the best,
Gaglardi Academy Admin. Team
