Dear Gaglardi Family,

Each year at this time, our school participates in the Samaritan’s Purse Shoebox project. Elementary classrooms are invited to fill a box with toys and supplies for one boy and one girl. These shoeboxes are collected and then shipped around the world to bless children at Christmas.

To keep things organized this year, classrooms are being assigned an age for their shoebox donations. Please refer to the table below to see what age group your child’s class is collecting for. If you are able to contribute to one or both of your class’ shoeboxes, please send in your item(s) to school no later than:

Thursday, November 18, 2021

Each shoebox costs $10 to ship. To help with the cost of shipping, we also ask that each student contributes a minimum of $2 to their classroom shoebox. As items arrive at school, they will be sorted into shoeboxes and placed on the foyer table. Any overflow of items will be used to fill even more boxes! Last year we contributed over 100 boxes to this project and hope to match, or even surpass, that number this year!

Many thanks for your help in this effort to help others. We are better together!

Below are your classroom assignments. Each grade will focus on a boy and girl of specific age.

Samaritan’s Purse has listed the following as items to pack and not pack in a shoebox. For further ideas, please visit: https://www.samaritanspurse.ca/suggested-gifts/

*Please pay close attention to the items not permitted in shoe boxes. Every box at Gaglardi has to be inspected by a teacher volunteer to ensure that none of the following items are packed within. Every year many of these goods are, however, found in the shoeboxes. Please help out your friendly, neighbourhood teacher by refraining from packing the following:
