Grade 7 students are off on a sailing adventure on June 26-28 with Compass Adventures Sailing Academy! Parents need to drop off their children at the Comox Marina by 8:45 am each day. Pick up is at 2:15 pm also at the marina.

Students need to wear a t-shirt, shorts, and footwear that can get wet plus bring a coat for the morning as it is chilly on the shore. Also, bring a towel, lunch and a mid-morning snack. All life jackets and safety equipment is provided by Compass Adventures.

Compass Adventures Sailing Academy offers a three-day "Try Sailing Introduction" adventure for children ages 10 and up. During this three-day adventure, the students will learn the fundamentals of water safety and sailing, and be given an "on the water" experience. The "on the water'' experience will be guided by trained instructors and the children will be divided into 6 groups of 4 students each. Compass Adventures has 6 Cat Boats for students, and two coach boats, and a safety Zodiac. The Cat boats are similar to the boats that you see in the harbour during the summer used by HMS Quadra cadets. The sailing program is licensed through Can Sail, the governing body for Sail Canada.
