Help Wanted! This just in from our terrific Mrs Tansky: As Missions 10-12 students, we have been very busy finding and creating opportunities to serve our community on a regular basis this year. Some of us have started a sports intramurals club, which will run several days a week during lunch hour. Another group is planning a crafts club, which will allow younger students to connect with each other, and a few of us will be partnering with younger students in a big buddy program!
This all sounds great, but why do we need your help?
There is a small group of us who would like to help out at the Sunshine Lunch Club, which provides lunch each day at St. George's United Church. Each week, we would help with food preparation and serving on Tuesdays, from 11:00-1:15. As school staff are very busy during the day, we are hoping that a parent or a group of parents would be able to help out by driving us to and from St. George's and staying to supervise us as we do our work.
Can you help? Even if it's just once a month, we would be so thankful for your service! If you are willing to help in this area, please contact Mrs Tansky - joy@gaglardiacademy.ca. Thanks in advance!

Speaking of helping...
We need one volunteer to help out with grade 6 and 9 immunizations. For details or to sign up, contact Mrs Taylor at office@gaglardiacademy.ca or phone 250-339-1200. |
It's all about masks!
The school wants to remind you of the importance of students wearing their masks while they are inside the school building. Masks should be on students' faces before entering the facility rather than going to the classroom to dig out a mask from their backpack or discover that they don't have one. Wearing a mask is the first and best defence against any infectious disease, including COVID 19. Parents are encouraged to send their children to school with two masks so that each child has a backup. Thank you for helping us keep your children safe while they are at school! |
