Saturday, Dec. 11, is the final Bonus Reading Day for 2021! Unlike other days, every 15 minutes of reading on bonus days can be recorded on your daily reading sheet. Happy reading!

It's the hap-happiest time of the year....because we have a week-long dress up from Dec 13-17 and the students enjoy the excitement. So, here is our roster of dress-up delights. Note: the only non-uniform day is Friday. Every other day, except for Friday, the uniform stands! These dress-up pieces are accumulative; for example, by Thursday, you can wear socks, ties, hats, and footwear!

Monday - Christmas socks!
Tuesday - Christmas ties!
Wednesday - Christmas hats or hair thingies!
Thursday - Christmas footwear like slippers, etc.
Friday - Wear all the things! Complete your ensemble with Christmas head-to-toe for the Merry & Bright Dress-up day

It's basketball season! If you're able, come on out to cheer on our Arrows' teams. All games start at 3:30 pm. Go Arrows!

Sad news: Due to Covid concerns, our Christmas Celebration which was scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 16, is cancelled. Instead of the evening celebration, during the day teachers will take their classrooms on a tour of the school's Christmas window displays where they will try to guess what Christmas carol is represented. Next year, we're hoping for a good ol' fashioned Christmas spent with our entire school community. Here's hoping! 

Good News! We will be recording a concert featuring our band students on Thursday, Dec. 16, during the school day for you to view online at a later date. Probably in next Friday's WAAG for your end-of-school-beginning-of-the-holidays enjoyment. Nice.

The holidays are almost upon us and what better way to celebrate than have a Merry & Bright Dress-up Day on Friday, Dec. 17? Come to school dressed up in your merriest and brightest clothing that brings Christmas cheer! Tra la la...

Gaglardi Academy has joined the Comox Valley Festival of Trees to sponsor the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation. To vote for our tree by making a donation, text "TREE088" to 45678 or you can click the link below. All proceeds go directly to the Children’s Hospital Foundation and any donation over $20 can be a tax credit. Bonus! We are making it fun for the children by making it a competition. The class that has the most donations will get a Pizza Party! FUN!!

This will help us track numbers so we'll be able to know who gets the pizza party...which, of course, is extremely important. Thanks!

Mrs Bouchard's class is having a Kindness Food Drive for our local food bank during the last two weeks of school. From now until Friday, Dec 17, you can bring in non-perishable food such as canned fish, canned beans, pasta, rice, applesauce, canned vegetables, etc. and place them in the box in the school foyer. We want to show kindness to those who are in need this holiday season.

Good news for all you cookie fans! The grad class has extended their Cookie Jar Fundraiser sales PLUS have added another option for your enjoyment: Hot Chocolate Cones! Deliciousness. Cookie Jars are $15 each and Hot Chocolate Cones are $10 each. The sales will be from 2:30-3:30 pm every day until the holidays or until they're sold out. All proceeds go to helping our grade 12s' raise money for their graduation activities. Thanks for your support!
