We're excited to share some updates to the Parent Portal:

1. Athletics Page: Now includes sports schedules, season info, and more. Stay up-to-date with all our teams' activities. Information is being added rapidly, so stay tuned!
2. Colour Teams: Check out team rosters, standings, and captains. Follow along with the fun activities students will participate in throughout the year.
3. Elementary Classroom Pages: All classroom pages have been refreshed! Teachers are eager to share important updates weekly, including a look ahead at key information and a look back at fun events. Keep up with classroom activities via the calendar and events posted in each classroom hub.

As always, the Parent Portal password is required to access these pages. If you don't have the password, please reach out. Keep an eye on your email today for the password reminder.

We’re excited to announce that our entire school (K-12) will be divided into four colour teams for activities and community building this year. These teams will compete throughout the year, earning points through various events and challenges.

Students will need a T-shirt in the colour of their team. Please try to keep designs to a minimum and choose a solid-coloured shirt if possible.

Volleyball season is kicking off at our school, starting with the boys and girls grades 8-10 teams! It's time to bump, set, and spike into action.

Practice Schedule:
- Gr 8-10 Girls: Wednesdays from 3:15 PM to 4:15 PM.
- Gr 8-10 Boys: Thursdays from 3:15 PM to 4:15 PM.

Parents of students in grades 7-12, high school students will have an adventure and team-building day on the 19th. They should come prepared with adventure-appropriate attire, a packed lunch, and water. We also need parent drivers. Contact joy@gaglardiacademy.ca if you can drive.

On our Terry Fox Day run, students prepare for a hot dog feast! The Salvation Army will grill hot dogs for all students before the big run.

We’re also looking for a few awesome parent volunteers to help serve. If you’re up for some fun and food, contact us at office@gaglardiacademy.ca!

Students will participate in our annual Terry Fox run this Friday! Get your running shoes on and stretch those hamstrings because this event is the first opportunity for school colour teams to earn points. 

Students, wear your colour shirt and represent your colour team this Friday!

Join us for our first Parent Pro-D of the year, “Start the Year Off Running,” led by our new Elementary Principal, Mrs. Nel. Don’t miss this opportunity to connect and kickstart the year! Parent Pro-Ds will be held bimonthly, so stay tuned for more!

You may have heard about this incredible group last year led by our own fantastic Mr. Streeton last year. The Mighty Men are back and mightier than ever! The Mighty Men group for grades 5-9 will be starting off this year on Wednesdays at lunch.

Our hot lunch program will commence with its first hot lunch on October 4/24, with an ordering window starting on Sept. 18/24 and ending on Sept. 29/24. And don't worry; you don't need to remember that our fantastic PAC hot lunch lead will send you emails!

We are seeking extra hands to help with two upcoming opportunities at Phil and Jennie Gaglardi Academy!

1. Hot Dog Helpers—We need volunteers to help prepare and serve hot dogs before the Terry Fox Run on Friday, September 20th.

2. School Garden & Shrubs – If you have a green thumb, we’re also looking for volunteers to help maintain our school garden and with the upkeep of shrubs around the campus.

Saturday is a bonus reading day for all K-6 students in the Reading Club. This means that for every 15 minutes you read, you can record it on your daily reading sheet! Nice.
