Important Reminders...again!
Playdates! They sure are fun for the participants. But what isn't fun is when office staff are inundated from lunchtime onward with requests to make the playdates happen the day of. Parents, please arrange your child's playdates in advance, especially for children who ride the bus. This would be most helpful. The Drop-off/Pick-up area always gets busier at this time of year when the weather is wonderful and more students and parents linger outside at the end of school. This is great! What isn't great is when those same students and parents jaywalk across the Drop-off/Pick-up zone between the cars. Please remember to use the sidewalks and crosswalks instead. Thanks! Also, with the warmer weather, please make sure to pack a water bottle with your child each day. It's hot business playing outside in the sunshine. A filled water bottle can stay on their desk which means students won't be interrupting the class to take extra trips to the water fountain to quench their thirst. Win-win. |
It's time to order school uniforms!
Yes, it seems early but it really is time to order your children's formal and regular uniforms so they will arrive by the beginning of school in September 2023. Our supplier, Cambridge Uniforms, is only able to guarantee delivery of uniforms before the start of school if your order is made by June 15. Yikes, that's not far away! :O They've written a letter to explain the ordering process which is especially helpful if you're a new family in our school. (Click the link below to view.) Before you go shopping, remember to view our Uniform Requirements document so you'll know what items to buy for your child's grade. It's just a good idea. PE Uniform Woes
It seems that many students are forgetting their PE strip (aka PE uniforms) at home. Parents, please remind your grades 4-12 children that they are required to wear their PE strip during all PE classes and that the regular uniform is not an acceptable alternative. Just so you know, or perhaps you can remember when you were in school, after gym class, students - especially older ones - can have strong body odour and if they've worn their regular uniform during gym, this unpleasant odour follows them down hallways and into classrooms where it must be endured by those who follow healthy hygiene habits. It's a most unfortunate conversation to have but...there it is. So, please remind your children to bring AND wear their PE strip. From now on, if a child receives "3 strikes" for forgetting their PE strip at home, a new PE strip will be provided and parents will be emailed the invoice for them. |
