The three top students from each class for reciting scripture are competing in the final Truth Seekers Challenge on Wednesday, June 1. Grades 1-3 students compete from 9:00-10:00 am and Grades 4-6 students are from 10:45 am to 12:00 pm. Parents are welcome to attend! Woot.

Grade 11 students in Tourism will be enjoying a picnic at the Filberg Park on Wednesday, June 1, from 1:30-3:00 pm (weather permitting). Students will walk there and back so, hopefully, the day is sunny! 

All entries for our Arrows' mascot and slogan challenge issued by Mr McKague at the Arrows Pep Rally are due Wednesday, June 1! Hand submissions to your classroom/homeroom teacher or into Mrs Johnson's mailbox in the office.

This is the time of year when our librarian and her dedicated volunteers sort and refile all out-of-place books on shelves and make them ready for next year. It's a big job and the librarian is sooo happy when students return their books promptly. Let's make her happy. No tardy books, please! :)

Saturday, June 4, is the LAST bonus reading day for all K-7 students who are part of the Reading Club. All completed reading sheets must be emailed to Mrs MacDougall (pauline@gaglardiacademy.ca) by Wednesday, June 8.

Urgent!! We are in need of someone to buy items for and stock the vending machine as early as next week! All purchases are reimbursed. It requires a weekly commitment so joining with another family is a great idea to make light work of it. Plus, it's also a good way to complete volunteer hours! FMI or to sign up, email Mrs Mulgrew at accounts@gaglardiacademy.ca. 

Also, please consider volunteering for Sports Day. We've only had two responses so far! In order to run a fun event for students, your help is necessary. Plus, you need to complete volunteer hours so it's definitely a win-win for everyone. K-6 Sports Day is on Friday, June 24, and your assistance is required from 9:00 am-12:30 pm. Please contact Mrs  Hidber in the office to sign up by phoning 250-339-1200 or emailing office@gaglardiacademy.ca. 

Volunteer invoices will be sent out next week. Please input all the volunteer hours you have completed this year into our Volunteer Hours Tracking form on the website. If you do this over the weekend, then everything will be up-to-date for invoicing. Thanks!

On Thursday, May 26, our elementary students participated in the first K-7 Christian School Track Meet held at Vanier track in Courtenay. Schools in attendance were Campbell River Christian, Heritage Christian, and Gaglardi Academy.

This was the first track meet Grades K-2 students participated in and their enthusiasm was so fun to watch. One of the many highlights of this 'new-to-track-meets' crew was Kindergarteners running the 60 m sprint. As we all know, to get ready for a sprint you have to get "On your mark"...
