Plants & Smoothies
Dear Gaglardi Community, This is Paytra, Lavinia, Hannah and Bethany, and we are Grade 12 students who love the natural world and want to promote good stewardship of the earth. For our Capstone Project, we would like to support the work of SPEC - Society Promoting Environmental Conservation. In particular, we are interested in helping kids become aware of food insecurity and what they can do to help with this problem. During the week of May 13-16, we will join students in the classroom to help them learn how all of us can work together to make a positive change in our community by not wasting food, by growing and harvesting food, and by supporting organizations such as food banks. In addition to learning together, we will be holding a smoothie sale at lunch on Thursday, May 16. If you would like to support SPEC by buying a smoothie, an order form will be going home in your child’s planner on Monday, May 13. One other way to support our initiative is to bring a bit of cash to purchase a baby plant. The plant sale will run from 2:15-3:15 on Thursday, May 16. We are looking forward to interacting with your kids this coming week. Thanks for your support! Patyra, Lavinia, Hannah and Bethany |
