Sports DayK-7 students get to enjoy an "Around the World" themed Sports Day on Thursday, June 17! This year, our friends at YFC will be running the games and students will participate within their cohorts. Students need to bring a lunch, water bottle and wear their team colour (which their teacher will inform them of next week). Small snacks will be provided. :) We are also looking for parent volunteers for this event! In fact, we're looking for three more who can move through the activities with a cohort! If you are able to assist, please call Mrs Taylor at 250-339-1200 or email office@gaglardiacademy.ca. It will be a super-fun day for the students! BTW, as per Covid regulations, there may be no spectators, please and thank you. |

Graduation 2021Grade 12 students are having their graduation ceremony on Friday, June 18, at 1:00 pm. This ceremony will be attended by students (Grades 8-11) and staff members in Cohort 5 only as per the Covid Graduation policy. The good news is that we have a film crew filming the ceremony and other graduation activities to upload to YouTube so that all family and friends may watch and celebrate with the grads. Stay tuned for an email with the video link! |

Toonie for a Tie FundraiserGrade 12 students are selling ties each and every Wednesday after school until June 16. $2/tie or 3/$5. Give the gift of a fun tie to your dad for Father's Day. Thanks for your support! |

Beach Day is quickly approachingMonday, June 21, is Beach Day for grades K-6 students! HOWEVER, in order for the students to enjoy this fabulous day at the beach, we need parent volunteers! If you can help with this day, it would really make our day! Please contact Mrs Taylor if you are able at 250-339-1200 or email office@gaglardiacademy.ca. Oh, and permissions forms with all the event details go home on Monday, June 14. Watch for them! (Or be proactive and dig through your child's backpack to find them.) :D |

An event of Olympic proportionsOn a sunny Friday morning not so long ago, the 6/7s of Mrs Jones' class met on the athletic field for a tournament of epic proportions. Representing the Ancient Greek city-states of Argos, Athens, Corinth, Megara, and Sparta, the students proudly waved their flags and competed in games that tested balance, strength, endurance, and speed. There were hula hoop contests, frisbee disc throws, Gaga Ball challenges, long jumps, and running races all performed before adoring fans.
