After 40 days, Mrs Jones’ grade 6/7 class were ready to lay Pharaoh Cluckmosis III to rest. While studying Ancient Egypt and the mummification process, the 6/7s mummified an actual chicken’s leg. Once mummified, the leg was wrapped and placed into its own bejewelled sarcophagus, complete with prayer scrolls, and was prepared for burial. The class wrote poems and prose to honour their chicken king with. His great accomplishments, including his building of the Great Coop or Thebes, were spoken of before he was laid to rest under the pyramid made by our grade 6 students.
