On a sunny Friday morning not so long ago, the 6/7s of Mrs Jones' class met on the athletic field for a tournament of epic proportions. Representing the Ancient Greek city-states of Argos, Athens, Corinth, Megara, and Sparta, the students proudly waved their flags and competed in games that tested balance, strength, endurance, and speed. There were hula hoop contests, frisbee disc throws, Gaga Ball challenges, long jumps, and running races all performed before adoring fans.

The day began with pledges and a parade and ended with a medal ceremony and the crowning of the games' 'victorious one' - the one student who conquered the most challenges - with a laurel wreath. At the end of the day, Argos and Athens tied for top spot, though all felt proud of their achievements and particularly enjoyed celebrating with cookie medals. Now it's all 'ancient history,' but the great games of 2021 will live on in our memories for years to come!
